Scouting provides a deeply meaningful participation experience to youth, leaders, families and community. The San Diego Chapter of Scouting Alumni and Friends seeks to engage these individuals after their typical Scouting connections conclude. The chapter goal is to continue to foster the Scouting ideals embodied in the Scout Oath & Law, for friendly fellowship, community service nd giving back to the Scouting movement.

Eagle Scout Rank is the highest achievement attainable in the Scouting program. The designation "Eagle Scout" has a long history since its founding over one hundred years ago. Very few Scouts are granted this rank after a lengthy review process and requirements that take years to fulfill. Since it's founding, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million youth.
… But then what's next? College? Military Service? Trade School? Work?
Mentoring is an opportunity to help a person grow through discovery. As an Eagle Scout in a particular profession or with an array of life experiences, would you be energized in mentoring a new Eagle Scout interested in a similar field or path in life

The National Scouting Alumni and Friends has established the Council Alumnus of the Year Award to recognize Scouting alumni who have maintained a lifetime relationship with Scouting. This award does not simply recognize the individual for being a distinguished person or honor those giving time and energy to the BSA as a volunteer leader; Scouting already has awards that do that.
It is more of a combination between the two.
Primary consideration is given to those that remind Scouting alumni to maintain a lifetime relationship with Scouting, which enables Scouting to remain healthy for future generations. In addition, potential recipients of the award may be nominated based on the three following categories:
The San Diego-Imperial Council will select a local winner, and from that pool, each region will pick a region-level winner. A national winner then will be selected from the four regional finalists.
The following organizations are affiliated with the Scouting Alumni and Friends Association:
The SDIC Eagle Scout Alumni Association (ESAA) - The ESAA was created with the express purpose to support and enlarge the success of the Boy Scout movement and build fellowship among adult Eagles, ages 18 and older, in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
