Camp Balboa Photo Tour

Campsites
Camp Balboa has nine (9) campsites. Each site is located near a bathroom, has running water, at least one (1) table and a campfire ring for use. Groups must carry all gear to their site. Carts are available to assist.

Pool

Pool
The pool is open June-October weather permitting. There are rinse-off showers only. Pool is available for Group/ unit rental with the exception of Saturday Open Swim time. Groups must provide a person trained in BSA or Red Cross Lifeguard. If a group would like to use the pool but cannot provide a BSA or Red Cross Lifeguard, arrangements can be made, at least two (2) weeks in advance, for a Lifeguard. A fee for the pool and lifeguard is required.

Saturday Open swim 1-4pm for weekend campers only, Lifeguard provided by Camp Balboa.

Amphitheater

Amphitheater
The Amphitheater (Scout Bowl) will seat up to 350 people and is equipped with a fire ring, stage area, a sound system and lighting. It is a great place for Award Ceremonies, Courts of Honor and pack meetings.

It is reserved on Saturday 7:30 - 9:15pm, for the Camp-wide Campfire. It can be reserved Sunday through Thursday for your program.

Atherton Hall

Atherton Hall
Atherton Hall is the perfect building to hold meetings or training sessions. The main room is large with chairs and tables. Capacity varies on the set up of the room. With tables and chairs the capacity can be over 80 individuals. Hall contains a large TV, VHS/DVD, and large screen. LCD projector can be reserved for a Zone or Program event. Behind Atherton is the patio.

Patio
The Patio is located between the back of Atherton Hall and the pool. It has 12 picnic tables that can seat 6 to 8 people each. There are two large BBQs available for cookouts. All but one of the tables is covered by a sun screen. There is lighting for night time usage.

Hogan
  The Hogan is an intimate place to hold a smaller meting or training session. Capacity varies on the set up. With tables and chairs the capacity is about 25 individuals. A small screen, TV and VHS/DVD player are available.

There is no heat in this building and might get a little chilly in the winter months.

At the Stephen B. Damm Service Center you will find all the general information you need on events, programs, & joining Scouting. Any payments can be at the front counter. Please check in at the service center before heading to offices of employees.

Service Center hours are:

  • 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM - Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM - Tuesday & Thursday
  • 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM - Saturday
  • Closed - Sunday

At the San Diego Scout Shop you will find all the standard uniforms, supplies, badges, awards, books and many other items needed to fulfill your Scouting needs.

Scout Shop hours are:
