The advanced training schedule includes courses for those wishing to develop their knowledge of Scouting and expand their Scouting skills. The courses are generally designed for those who have completed Basic Training for their position and are prepared to continue learning more advanced skills.

After completing basic training and being commissioned, commissioners should continue their training by attending monthly zone commissioner cabinet meetings. In addition to these meetings, a commissioner should attend this annual training event where nationally developed courses, resource materials, and training recognition provide fun, sparkle, and motivation to help commissioners to continue to learn good unit service skills.
NYLT is an exciting, action-packed Council hosted program designed to provide older Scouts with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops.
The focus of this national BSA program is on inspiring and enabling Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts and Venturers participants to deliver effective, world class National Youth Leadership Training courses in their local councils with special emphasis on improving presentation skills, evaluation skills, and on learning in more depth the NYLT leadership skills.
Intense leadership and management training focused on the 'how-to' aspects of managing a successful youth led Sea Scout program. While Seabadge was developed as an advanced leadership training program for experienced Sea Scout adult leaders the course is open to all adult Scout leaders. Valid for three years.
This course is advanced training for adult leaders in Scouting designed to enhance contemporary leadership skills and develop more effective Scout leaders. The Wood Badge program gives participants a greater understanding of Scouting aims and methods, while developing true Scout Spirit.
